St. George’s Players will be presenting the comedy “The Bible: the complete word of God (abridged)” for two weekends in two venues beginning November 13, 2009. The first weekend of performances will be at St. James Church 13010 8th Street, Bowie, MD 20720 on Friday and Saturday, November 13 & 14 at 8:00pm and Sunday, November 15 at 3:00pm. The fun will continue at St. George’s Church, 7010 Glenn Dale Road Glenn Dale, MD 20769 on Friday and Saturday, November 20 & 21 at 8:00pm and Sunday, November 22 at 3:00pm. General admission tickets are $15.00 (adult) and $7.50 for students (under age 12) and seniors (65 and over). Tickets can be reserved by calling 301 262 3285 or via email stgeoplayers@gmail.com. The closing performance on Sunday, November 22 will also offer a “Sweet & Savory” reception for $10.00.
The cast of three portray over 20 characters in this comedy covering each book of the Bible in hilarious comedic fashion attempting to answer some of the more complex theological questions: did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? Did God have a sense of humor? Why isn’t the word phonics spelled phonetically?
St. George’s Players is a non-profit community theatre organization, under the auspices of St. George’s Church, Glenn Dale, and is currently in its third season.
