School of Service

Thursday, July 09, 2009 - Sunday, July 12, 2009
Location: Adelynrood Retreat and Conference Center, Byfield, MA
Event Description: (Thursday dinner – Sunday lunch)

The School of Service is an opportunity to gather and share our collective wisdom, raise up pressing issues, and identify ways in which we can respond both individually and corporately. We will explore what it means to “serve Christ in all persons” as we promise in our baptismal vows and to “reduce human suffering” as the Millennium Developments Goals asks of us. Our time together will include presentations, small group discussions, and private reflection time. We will follow Adelynrood’s Holy Routine which will ground us to “go forth to love and serve the Lord.”

Pamela Hill, PhD, SCHC has been serving in schools most of her life. Having recently retired as head of the English department in a girls’ school, she is pursuing her interest in issues relating to both women and girls. Pam has attended two of the annual gatherings of the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women in New York City. She is currently working with two Beijing Circles in Philadelphia.
