Appointed Missionaries, Volunteers for Mission, and Young Adult Service Corps serve as partners as they work alongside the indigenous people where they are assigned.
Appointed Missionaries are members of the Episcopal Church, or any church in communion with the Episcopal Church, and serve for 3 years initially and may be extended. Their local congregation, diocese, receiving jurisdiction, and the National Church program provide the support package.
Volunteers for Mission are members of the Episcopal Church, or church in communion with the Episcopal Church, and usually serve for a minimum of one year. Primarily their own local congregation and/or diocese provide support for volunteers.
Young Adult Service Corps (YASC) offers one-year assignments to work with a local church (or church-founded institution/program). YASC is, as one might guess, tailored for young adults, and involves a component of guided reflection and mentoring. The program intends to bring younger people into the life of the Anglican Communion and into the daily work of a particular communities; yet it also intends to bring the resources of the church into the lives of younger people as they explore down what paths their faith may be leading them. The emphases of YASC include cultural engagement, spiritual commitment, and vocational reflection - lived out together in a work of service. Placements are available for an array of different jobs, in a wide variety of places across the globe.
