Solemn Eucharist

Eucharist celebrated with a full ceremonial style, typically including ministers (lay and ordained) in vestments, the chanting of all or part of the liturgy of the word and the eucharistic prayer, sung responses, a vested choir, and (usually) incense. Such a full celebration is often reserved for a major feast or the main Sunday service of a congregation. The elaborate ceremonial emphasizes the significance of the occasion. See High Mass; see Anglo-Catholic Movement, Anglo-Catholicism.
