Hurricane Katrina relief, refugee crisis in Sudan, AIDS orphans in South Africa-can one person really make a difference in the enormous, complex problems we read about every day? Too often, we forget the power of one person to stand up, speak out, and force others to open their eyes to the injustices in the world. Will you be that person that takes action? Will you tell your friends, family, and congregation about the issues you feel passionately towards? Will you write and call your representatives to urge them to take meaningful action? We are called in our Baptismal Covenant to strive for justice and peace among all people. Will you?
